Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society‚Äôs signature activity.  Several teams take part in each relay, raising much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment.

While the Relay itself is a 24-hour event, fundraising is a year-round activity.  With nearly $4,000 raised last year, the annual Jingle Bell Run has become one of our largest single sources of donation funds.  Over the last several years, the Boardman Rotary Team has generated the largest contribution of any team at the Boardman event, raising in excess of $150,000.

A history teacher at Boardman High School for 19 years, Christine Terlesky's passion and enthusuasm has touched numerous lives throughout the years. In the fall of 2013, she was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral scerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.

As she undertakes this battle, those around her have established Chip in for Chris, a charitible fund designed to support Chris and her family with medical bills and the other costs that have now become an unfortunate part of life with ALS.
