Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. Several teams take part in each relay, raising much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment.
While the Relay itself is a 24-hour event, fundraising is a year-round activity. With over $5,000 raised last year, the annual Jingle Bell Run has become one of our largest single sources of donation funds. Over the last several years, the Boardman Rotary Team has generated the largest contribution of any team at the Boardman event, raising in excess of $90,000.

As a teacher at Holy Trinity Parish and the Director of Religious Education at St. Nicholas Parish in Struthers and St. Charles Parish in Boardman, Stephanie's service to the community has spanned over three decades, providing her the opportunity to touch many lives throughout the Mahoning Valley.
In November of 2011, Stephanie was diagnosed with lymphoma and underwent four grueling rounds of chemotherapy throughout the past year.
Sadly, Stephanie passed away on November 18, 2012. A portion of the Jingle Bell Run proceeds was to go to assisting with the cost of her treatments. At the request of Stephanie and her family, those proceeds will now be donated to Akron Children's Hospital. |
